Hematologist by profession, correspondent for Italian national newspapers (such as "Il Tempo") and press agencies (such as "Ansa"), for several years he has been fully dedicating his time to writing. He has written thirteen plays, three libretti for operas, the Italian adaptation of “Edmund Kean” by R. Fitzsymons, a work for the theatre (L’uomo dei sogni) and a novel, Sarka, whose English translation has just been published by Di Renzo Editore. In recent years, his plays have been staged in important Italian theatres (S. Babila Theatre in Milan, the Valle Theatre and the Vittoria Theatre in Rome, the Teatro Comunale in Treviso and the Pezzani Theatre in Parma, the Camploy Theatre in Verona, Tordinona e SalaUno in Rome) and also in Switzerland, played by relevant national companies with impressive staging. Forti has cooperated and still cooperates with famous Italian actors, stage designers and directors, like Ugo Pagliai, Giancarlo Zanetti, Laura Lattuada, Eugenio Guglielminetti e Nicola Rubertelli. His opera “Salvo D’Acquisto”, with music by A. Fortunato, has been presented under the High Patronage of the President of the Italian Republic. The author’s meeting with the then President of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, before the performance at the Massimo Theatre in Palermo in 2002 has been unforgettable. The opera has been staged in Rome, Treviso and Marsala, and in the form of a selection of musical extracts in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The CD has been published by Bongiovanni (Bologna). An aria of the opera has been performed in 1999 in Tokyo and Osaka during some relevant concerts by tenors such as Borin, Giacomini and Aragall. Forti has received many literary and theatrical awards. For three years running he has been awarded the Prize “I Fiumi”. His works have been twice selected for the final stage of the festival “G. Totola” in Verona. He has also been awarded the Prize “Il nome della Prosa” in Rome, and one of his plays has been performed during a festival in Turin, “Prove d’Autore”, organized by OUTIS. All the most important national newspapers and the relevant public and private TV channels have taken an interest into his works with reports in TV news and dedicated programs.

He has also received important prizes:

• Plaque by the “Ass. Medaglie d’Oro al Valor Militare” in 2001

• Plaque donated by Provincia Regionale di Trapani in 2003

• Prize “We Build” by Kiwanis International in 2006

• Unesco Prize 2007 Since 2003 Forti is well-deserving citizen of the town of Marsala with the following reason: “because he has expressed, with his plays, great past and present values”.
